NEW ROOM | WHO THIS?

Hey friends,
As mentioned in my goodbye 2017 post, I completed my room in November. I’m talking new furniture, new layout and a brand new theme - New room who this baby?
I mean, my room was hot pink before and it’s fair to say that I outgrew it.
I think picking the theme was the hardest part of the whole process. I knew that I wanted white to be the main colour but I also wanted a hint of something else. I even contemplated having white flooring but someone (my mum) said it wasn’t one of my greatest ideas. Either way I just happy to be getting rid of my tired looking beige carpet.

Fluffy slippers to go with my fluffy rug.
Thinking about the carpet gives me a serious headache because taking it up was the longest (felt like I had completed an hour of cardio). Anyways, I did the flooring all by myself so it really isn’t perfect but I’m still proud. Ideally, I would’ve preferred a fluffy white runner but I settled for this cute little off-white fluffy rug from Ikea.
To be honest, most of the things in my room are from Ikea - Love love love that place!
It’s truly the adult equivalent to a toy store haha.

Underbed storage chests are such a good shout.
I said goodbye to my double oak bed with wood slates and welcomed this kingsized pure white metal framed bed. This is possible the best bed I’ve ever had and it’s from good old Argos. I was even happier when they had 20% off on all bedroom furniture during the time of my purchase. The white bedding is also from Argos but I needed extra pillow cases so I popped into Primark for those. The fluffy blanket at the foot of the bed is also from Primark and was about £30. The cushions are from a seller on amazon and the teddy bear was a Christmas gift from my dad over 15 years ago.

I love me a jacket.
The clothing rail (from Ikea) was originally meant to be for new purchases but that then changed and I decided to place some of my coats on it. I really want to find a new location for it because it hides my shoedrobe. I literally part my coats like curtains just so I can pick out a pair of footwear lol. Either way I’m happy because the rail is white and I have easy access to the coats I wear the most.
To the left of the rail is my lovely white wardrobe (also from Ikea). Complete bargain at £60.

A tad squashed paddington bear?
I did downsize hoping that it would help me get rid of some clothing. It did help to a certain extent but not as much as I had hoped. Let’s just say the spare room has a rail with more jackets of mine and a few suitcases packed with some clothes. Tut tut Joy.
I decided to stick on a few mirrors (No idea why) But I think it makes the wardrobe look cute.

Mirror mirror on the wall...
To the right of my rail is my full length white mirror. I seriously struggled to transport this mirror from Southampton. I drive a Corsa, so it really wasn’t easy but your girl made it work.
My walls are painted in the colour ‘cookie dough’ (Dulux) and are covered with empty picture frames (for now), quotes and a lovely picture of flowers. I’ve failed to remember where each specific item is from. It’s definitely a mixture of Ikea, Wilkos and the 99p store.

Pictures coming soon.

Southampton memory.
The shelves are from Ikea and were superrrrr cheap. I’m talking pocket change. I’m talking the money you find in a jacket that you haven’t worn in a while. If you’ve never been so lucky…sorry.

Honestly.

A corner for my everyday wigs.
The Lamp, plants, Light shade and candles/holders are all from...

Not wonky by choice.

Every great thinker keeps a journal.
IKEA (sure you guessed it).
I do need to do stock up on medium sized candles though and maybe water my plant. It’s definitely crying for more love and attention. Sorry babes.

Bought a new TV just to match my room (kidding).
The chest of drawers and the two side tables are also from my favourite place and luckily for me they slotted in perfectly.

How cute.
The curtain rod is from Wilkos and the temporary curtain is from Argos.
And finally the most important thing in my room. My vanity table (obvs from ikea).

Where I work my magic.
Hope you enjoyed and are feeling a little inspired.
It really doesn’t cost much to redecorate the place you rest your head.

I absolutely adore my new room and hope you do too.
Apologies for not taking any before pictures.
Lots of love,
Joy x
